District Level Volley Ball Tournament

Karnataka North West Teachers’ Constituency MLA and former Govt. of Karnataka Minister Shri Prakash Hukkeri inaugurated the Bharatesh Education Trust (BET) Khel Ka Vajra Mahotsav – Interschool volleyball tournament on Friday 18th Nov, coinciding with the Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the Trust. Shri Suresh Patil, Director of KMF Belagavi and Shri Gururaj Kalyanshetty , CPI Nesaragi, were the guests of honor. MLA Shri Prakash Hukkeri praised BET for promoting the cause of education especially in rural areas. He also recalled his association with Late Shri Komalanna Doddanavar, one of the founders of BET, for being his political mentor. Shri Suresh Patil of KMF sponsored cool drinks for both the days for all teams participating in the event.

The dignitaries inaugurated the tournament by opening the ribbon at the volleyball courts and watering a sapling. Shri Hukkeri also announced a prize for the winning team and committed to support BET in all its endeavours.

A total of 37 teams- 25 boys’ teams, 12 girls’ teams from all over district are participating in this prestigious tournament with a cash prize of Rs. 40,000 for winning teams. A string of cultural, sports and community events are scheduled to commemorate the Trust’s Diamond Jubilee this year.

BET Secretary Shri Shripal Khemalapure, Managing Committee Members Shri Vinod Doddanavar, Shri Hirachand Kalmani, Shri Sharad Patil, principals, staff and students were present in large numbers for the event which is scheduled for 2 days.

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS

Keep yourself and others safe: Do it all!

  • 1. Get vaccinated as soon as it’s your turn and follow local guidance on vaccination.
  • 2. Keep physical distance of at least 1 metre from others, even if they don’t appear to be sick. Avoid crowds and close contact.
  • 3. Wear a properly fitted mask when physical distancing is not possible and in poorly ventilated settings.
  • 4. Clean your hands frequently with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
  • 5. Cover your mouth and nose with a bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Dispose of used tissues immediately and clean hands regularly.
  • 6. If you develop symptoms or test positive for COVID-19, self-isolate until you recover.
