Diploma Computer Science & Engineering program was started in 1994, affiliated to Board of Technical examinations and the Department of Technical Educations. The AICTE sanctioned intake is 60. The program was accredited in 2005 for a period of 3 years by National Board of Accreditation.
The program deals with the understanding of fundamental issues in computing, through models based on theory and abstraction. The ‘engineering part deals with the practical application of principles and methodologies to the development and maintenance of computer systems encompassing hardware and software.
Faculty is committed to encourage the students to undergo various coding skills training programmes like Java,C,Python which makes the teaching learning environment conducive for all types of students to fulfill their dreams. Department has good interactions and MoUs with the Industries to organize Industry invited lectures, Seminars, Industry visits, In-plant training. The students of Computer Science Engineering Department are placed in various companies and many of Alumni are working in abroad. The Department is proud for being successful in completing the 26 batches of students since inception.
The course will develop leadership, innovation and creative skills to enable and encourage graduates to follow successful engineering career.

It is a great privilege for me to be part of the M. L. Bhartesh Polytechnic College, Belagavi . Computer Science and Engineering is an essence of today’s world. The Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) is dedicated for ensuring great careers for its students. The excellent infrastructure, teaching faculty of the Department ensures quality education such as interaction among students, parents and with a Training and Placement Cell ensures a bright future to its students. CSE department is having MoUs with best organizations and trying to strengthen them further.
