One of the most liked activity is “Prerana Lectures series” organized jointly in association with Rotary club which was started from 2003 .Leading Industrialists from and around Belgaum deliver lectures on the present advanced scenarios of Industries. Resource persons of leading industry viz. Shri.Premchand Lengade from United Industries ,Shri Parag Bhandari of AKP Foundries, Shri Sachin Sabnis of Belgaum Ferrocast pvt ltd,Shri Vinayak Lokur of Expert Engineering Enterprises, Shri P M Nadagouda of Thermomet ,Belgaum,Shri Ajit Yadav from Pyrotech Engineers are some of the eminent personalities.
# Entrepreneurship Development Cell(EDC)-

The main objectives of EDC are to train, encourage and start Entrepreneurship activities.
To create an environment for self employment and entrepreneurship development through formal & non formal programs.
To develop management personal at appropriate levels for the non corporate and unorganized sectors like education, rural development, small scale industries etc.
Recent activities under EDC in our institute are three days “Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp”in association with CEDOK, Dharwad conducted for final year students, two week “Faculty development Program” on “ENTREPRENEURSHIP” in association with MIT Pune ,Technology Business Incubator ,approved by department of Science & technology Government of India ,New Delhi and National science & technology Entrepreneurship development Board.

The Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI] is an informative and training wing and is a statutory body to promote and advance the engineering and technology. It builds a rapo between students and industries.
We regularly organize and conduct guest lectures, Industry visits .The students had visited wind power plant at Mannikeri(Suzlon), Basaragi Solar power plant Shri Parashuram Hasabi on Personality Development, Suzlon Resource persons. We organized Inter Department quiz competitions.
# ISTE students chapter: No.KA-53 Indian Society for Technical Education

Indian Society for Technical Education is a students chapter .The main objective of the ISTE is giving awareness to students by conducting Expert lectures, training in public speaking, visit to industries and training on Management skills. It offers exposure to the present industry scenario. This year the chapter conducted 6 expert lectures.

ABOUT THE COURSE
The course aims to cause a basic awareness about the significance of soft skills in professional and inter-personal communications and facilitate an all-round development of personality. Hard or technical skills help securing a basic position in one’s life and career. But only soft skills can ensure a person retain it, climb further, reach a pinnacle, achieve excellence, and derive fulfillment and supreme joy. Soft skills comprise pleasant and appealing personality traits as self-confidence, positive attitude, emotional intelligence, social grace, flexibility, friendliness and effective communication skills.
From 2017-18 we started the NPTEL on line courses for our faculty, students as well as other interested .The extensive training is given in various subjects and certified by AICTE, New Delhi. The institute has taken initiation to establish the Digital Library of NPTEL courses. Also made available CD’s of prominent IIT faculty guest lectures.

The programme aims to inculcate social welfare in students, and to provide service to society without bias. NSS volunteers work to ensure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead a life of dignity.
The National Service Scheme is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Gandhiji’s Centenary year in 1969.
“NOT me but for you” is the main Motto of National Service Scheme started in 2004 in our institute. Camps and awareness activities such as blood donation camps, Tree plantation, Swaccha Bharat Abhiyaan, ,HIV /Aids awareness program , Traffic Rules awareness programs, technical services in villages are some of the events carried out.

The mission of the International Red Cross is “to prevent and alleviate human suffering wherever it may be found, to protect life and health, and ensure respect for the human being, in particular in times of armed conflict and other emergencies, to work for the prevention of disease and for the promotion of health and social welfare, to encourage voluntary service and a constant readiness to give help by the members of the Movement, and a universal sense of solidarity towards all those in need of its protection and assistance
Believing in the essence of service,we regularly conduct General health checkup camps, medical assistance for Dengue and H1N1,Oldage home visits, Awareness Rally’s viz.”NO Tobacco day” , “Save Heritage”etc. Blood Donation Camps are organized twice a year on the occasion of Founders day as well as Mahaveer Jayanti. The Kodagu and Kerala Flood sufferers were distributed Food materials, medical assistance and cash voluntarily by the students. The volunteers of Redcross & NSS took active part in Mahamastakabhisheka at Shravanabelagola.
# Skill Development Centre-
This most coveted centre conducts various advanced skill development programs for the regular students, outside candidates from ITI ,Polytechnic & Engineering along with dropouts and industry persons. CNC, VMC, TIG/MIG welding unit, Fuel Pump calibration, Wheel alignment & balancing machines etc. .More than 700 candidates are trained till date.
Under this scheme the PMKVY-Pradhan Mantri Koushalya Vikas Yojana courses are conducted in Lathe Operator, CNC Operator-level IV,CNC Operator ,VMC Operator, CNC Programmer Arc welding technician ,Conventional milling operator, UPS & Invertor installation & maintenance technician,Networking & data storage technician ,Control panel technician Wireman technician , Embroidery & sewing machine operator under different sectors of NSDC . A total of 550 candidates were trained till date.
# Hobby Club: Coordinator: Shri Yogesh T Bidari, Science department
This wing extracts the hidden talents of students through various events viz. dancing, singing, painting, playing musical instruments. Our students were the District level winners of a drama competition organized by “ Rangayana”.
It has Musical Instruments worth Rs 50000/- including Drum sets, Guitars, Tabla , Harmonium, Tamborin, Konga drums, Bonga drums etc. It also has Gymnasium instruments.
Students take active interest and participate with their own instruments also during all the events organized by the college during National days ,Alumni meet, Annual day.
