Mechatronics is concerned with the blending of Mechanical, Electronics, software and control theory engineering topics into a united frame work that enhance the design process.The course addresses different elements of a Mechatronics system :-signal conditioning, sensors, actuators. It has a smart mechanism to work in any kind of environment like factory automation, home automation, office automation, microcontrollers and software. It is taught by an interdisciplinary team from mechanical, electronics and computer engineering. This course is also approved for graduate credit.
Every student also produces a group project, usually carried out with three or four other students. The group project involves the software design, testing and application.
They are also employed in electrical plants and companies where automation and process control is required. Career opportunities in this fast-changing field exist in both private industry and publicly funded enterprises. Mechatronics is an exciting and rapidly growing new area of engineering, career prospects are excellent.
